독도석(獨島石)
산지: 독도 (자연석)

이 돌은 산지가 독도(獨島)이다. 지인(知人)으로부터 선물로 받은 돌인데 상징성이 있어 곁에 두다 보니 애장석(愛藏石)이 되었고, 독도 문제를 자연스럽게 생각하게 되었다. 독도 문제는 영토(領土)의 문제가 아니라 역사(歷史)의 문제라고 본다. 일본이 독도를 자기네 땅이라고 주장한 것은 식민(植民) 통치(統治) 이후라는 사실을 직시(直視)한다면, 저들은 아직도 한반도를 속국(屬國)으로 생각하고 있는 것이다. 양심도 없고 반성할 줄도 모르는 짐승들의 작태(作態)이다.
This stone is from Dokdo. It was gifted to me by an acquaintance and has since become my cherished possession due to its symbolic importance. Keeping it close has naturally led me to ponder the issues surrounding the island. I view the territorial dispute over Dokdo not merely as a territorial issue, but as one deeply rooted in history. Japan’s claim to Dokdo began only after its colonial rule, which clearly reflects Japan’s persistent view of the Korean Peninsula as its subordinate entity. This attitude is typical of beasts devoid of conscience and the capacity for reflection.
독도(獨島)의 절규
산지: 괴산 (자연석)

독도와 비슷한 느낌을 주는 이 돌은 특이하게 통한의 서러움과 절규가 느껴지는 작품이어서 “독도의 절규”라는 이름을 지었다. 마른 수건을 비틀어 물을 짜내는 것과 같은 일제 수탈의 역사 속에서 마를 대로 말라버린 그 당시의 조국(祖國) 강토(疆土)의 모습을 보는 것 같다.
This stone, which evokes the image of Dokdo, is distinctively characterized by sorrow and a cry of despair, aptly named “The Cry of Dokdo.” It depicts the desolation of our homeland, left devastated and drained like a towel wrung dry during the era of Japanese exploitation, stripped of all its resources.
잊어서는 안 되는 사건(事件)들

이 돌은 처음 보았을 때 무슨 사연이 들어 있는지 알 수 없었다. 모암이 깨끗하니 가져가시라는 권유에 들고 왔는데, 시간이 지나면서 작은 무덤 앞에 통곡하는 남자의 모습을 보았다. 썩 유쾌한 그림은 아니었지만 그렇다고 가볍게 볼 것도 아닌 것 같아 통곡을 할 수 밖에 없었던 잊어서는 안 되는 사건(事件)들이 무엇인가를 돌아보며 자연이 인간에게 던지는 메시지를 찾아보기로 하였다.
When I first came across this stone, I couldn’t detect any specific story it might hold. I brought it home because it was recommended for its pristine base rock. As time passed, I came to see the image of a man weeping before a small grave. While it wasn’t a comforting image, it appeared too significant to overlook. This prompted me to reflect on the unforgettable events that could drive such sorrow and to explore the messages that nature might be sending to humanity through this stone.
기억은 점점 희미해져 가고...
